data-component=\"VeeamTextComponent\" data-initialized=\"true\">The Bare Metal Recovery restore has detected that the system within the selected restore point was using MBR at the time of backup, and the system that the restore is being run on has been booted with UEFI BIOS.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-component parbase aem-GridColumn aem-GridColumn--default--12\">\n<div class=\" veeam-component__component-spacing-below--sm\">\n<div class=\"section section--round-corners-big   \">\n<div class=\"bg-image-size-contain bg-image-position-left      \">\n<div class=\"  \">\n<div class=\"aem-Grid aem-Grid--12 aem-Grid--tablet--12 aem-Grid--default--12 aem-Grid--phone--12 \">\n<div class=\"section-title-component class=\"notice notice--warning\">\n<div class=\"notice__icon\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"notice__content\">\n<div class=\"notice__title\">Change BIOS settings from UEFI to Legacy Mode<\/div>\n<div class=\"notice__text veeam-text\">\n<p>If your machine supports the legacy BIOS mode, use the legacy BIOS mode instead of the UEFI mode.<\/p>\n<p>If your machine does not support the legacy BIOS mode, the steps below will provide instructions on restoring the MBR-based backup to a UEFI system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"veeam-text text aem-GridColumn aem-GridColumn--default--12\">\n<div class=\"veeam-text  veeam-text--adaptive-mode\" data-component=\"VeeamTextComponent\" data-initialized=\"true\">\n<ol>\n<li>Boot from the Veeam Recovery Media.<\/li>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<b>Tools\u00a0<\/b>and start the\u00a0<b>Command Prompt<\/b>\u00a0utility.<\/li>\n<li>Run the following commands one by one:\n<pre class=\"ckeditor_codeblock\"><b>diskpart<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>list disk<\/b>\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>At this step, find the disk that you are going to use as a restore destination for the primary operating system. In this example, we assume that disk 0 is a restore destination for the primary operating system.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"ckeditor_codeblock\">DISKPART&gt; <b>select disk 0<\/b>\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><b>Mind that the following command will remove all data from disk 0.<\/b><\/p>\n<pre class=\"ckeditor_codeblock\">DISKPART&gt; <b>clean\u00a0<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>convert gpt<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>create partition efi size=200<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>select partition 1<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>format quick fs=fat32 label=\"System\"<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>assign letter=G<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>create partition msr size=128<\/b>\r\nDISKPART&gt; <b>exit<\/b>\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Start the Bare Metal Recovery process; note that you will still see the &#8222;OS disk in backup uses MBR disk&#8220; warning during the restore process. On the &#8222;Restore Mode&#8220; tab, choose [Manual restore (advanced)].\u00a0Do not restore the system partition, and do not delete the partitions created in the previous step.<br \/>\nYou may have to configure the disk layout manually. Restore the OS volume from the backup to the free space on the destination disk.<\/li>\n<li>After the restore process completes,\u00a0<b>do not reboot the machine.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Go to Tools &gt; Command Prompt utility and run the following commands:<br \/>\n<i><b>Note:<\/b>\u00a0The drive letter G: is used in this example as it was the drive letter created in the Diskpart example above.
